2009 “ Alice in ... “

Extract of the show - Festiwal Teatrów Europy Wschodniej SĄSIEDZI. Lublin

The performance draws inspirations forms the adventures of Alice in wonderland.

Alice's journey is however gloomy and mysterious. She encounters individual characters from her dream: beginning with the juggler-cat, going to the singing queen, the rabbit and the hatter.

Nevertheless, the performance is not a portrayal of the well-known plot, but rather a creation of a specific vibe, incredibility and gloomy and peculiar occurrences.

Each circus etude is preceded by life visualisation ( Agnieszka Piesiewicz ) and electronic music accompanied by fragments of 'Alice in wonderland', created for the needs of the spectacle.

Circus - theatre performance ( 50 min )

Group of 12 artists

Idea based on a novel „Din – don – wspomnienia klauna „ of Edward Manc. Each performer draw inspiration from an authentic story of old circus artists of golden times of traditional circus. Old artists came back on stage with new spirit.
Performers tried to show old art forms with new point of view. Sentimental trip into polish circus tradition.
Authentic archival video material from polish circus was used to create video clips. Each circus number was introduced by short story from book and a video - clip in order to compare and put circus art in a modern context. Music for the performance was played live by group of 3 musicians lead by Stefan Głowacki ( funky jazz )

Street theater with acrobatics and juggling ( 40 min )

Lonely, tragic, melancholic women ( Lola ) looks for a husband in between the public. Presented circus skills help her to get trust and harts of the public. As she searches a lot of funny situations are provoked in order to present stereotypes of modern woman.

Inspired by ones existing old circus artist – Wiola Kutil.
She might not be as Merlin Monroe but she trays her best. If it is not possible in a real life she becomes fame fatal in her imagination. She gets lost in dance, but when she wakes up from her oblivion, she faces brutal reality.

Physical theater performance with dance, singing, movement.
Mythological stories drown on a ancient vase cold Francois Vase (Archaeological Museum in Florence) have been putted into motion during workshops and research. Music inspired on ancient and traditional singing.
Performance developed in ATP 2004 by group of young artists lead by Mariusz Gołaj, Joanna Holcgreber and Włodzimierz Staniewski.

Audience is invited for a trip in a plane with group of strange passengers. The plain is being kidnapped by terrorist. Future and safety of the passengers depends from skills of the performers.

Creation of 5 polish performers

MDM (Marszałkowska Dzielnica Mieszkaniowa) – Building of residential district, investment venture in downtown of Warsaw, realized in 1950-1953.
Group of workers of post - communistic building side, bored with usual day work schedule tries to find all the reasons not to work. Ironic metaphor of communistic working system, with typical music from decade.
